Download and Installation Instructions for WinEcon US EconomicsFollow the three steps below to download and install WinEcon US Economics Step 1 - Downloading the software Save the WinEcon software (15MB) from the Web address below to a temporary location on your hard drive. If you are installing WinEcon to a securely configured Windows NT/2000/XP machine then you will now need to log in as Administrator before attempting to install WinEcon. Use "Windows Explorer" or "My Computer" to locate the winecon61us.exe file that you downloaded in step 1. Note that on many Windows systems, the ".exe" part of the file name will not be shown - so the file will appear to be called just "winecon61us" and not "winecon61us.exe". Double-click on the winecon61us.exe file to start the WinEcon installation program. Then follow the on-screen instructions. Click "Next" unless you wish to change the default settings. Click "Finish" You can now start WinEcon by double clicking on the WinEcon icon or by using the Windows start menu (Start | Programs | WinEcon 6.1 US) WinEcon will start up in 7 day sampler mode. Step 3 - Select the course 'Introduction to Economics' You can now start using the WinEcon US Economics in sampler mode. Entering your licence code If you have purchased a WinEcon site licence you will have been emailed a licence code. Your licence code should appear in the email as a single line. Although your email program may have inserted a line break you will need to enter it into WinEcon as a single line. N.B. This licence code will remain valid for the duration of your licence. If you try to enter it after the expiry date of your licence it will come up as 'invalid'. You would then need to contact WinEcon Help. Enter the licence code into WinEcon as follows: - Copy the licence code from your email (as a single line). WinEcon should now show your current licence details. You can view these at any time by clicking on the Licence Details button. Click on the navigation back arrow to close the pop-up window.

WinEcon 6.1 US can be removed from your PC using the "Add/Remove Programs" link in Windows Control Panel. - Click Start If you were logged in as Administrator when you installed WinEcon then you will probably need to be logged in as Administrator in order to be allowed to remove WinEcon. |
