MathEcon
The latest version 7 of the MathEcon software, used by universities and other institutions, has been available since May 2006. If you wish to use hyperlinks to MathEcon topics from your university's course notes when working away from the LAN (Local Area Network) on your own PC, you would need to have version 7 of MathEcon installed on your PC. Therefore, if you have an earlier version of MathEcon you may want to upgrade your software by purchasing the WinEcon Student Pack which is available at the much reduced price of £10. The software includes a number of courses as well as the MathEcon course, Mathematics for Economics and Business and offers a saving of over £70 when these courses are purchased separately. N.B. You do not need to upgrade your MathEcon software to continue to use it as a standalone product, only if you are having problems web-linking from course notes on your own PC. Once you have installed the Student Pack software, you will be able to continue to access MathEcon Resources from your CD-ROM installation, but when you click on a link to WinEcon from the MathEcon Resources Contents page or from your university's web based course notes, WinEcon version 7 will start up at the MathEcon topic specified. On your PC's Start menu you will still have listed Mathematics for Economics and Business which will start up MathEcon Resources, and also listed will be WinEcon version 7 which would start up the WinEcon software where you will see Mathematics for Economics and Business listed as one of your available courses. If you already have WinEcon version 7 installed and then install MathEcon from CD-ROM you would need to re-install WinEcon version 7 again AFTER installing MathEcon to provide the update.
